BRINGING SMEs ONTO THE E-COMMERCE HIGHWAY

Project:
Funded by the International Trade Centre (ITC), the project aimed at providing a quantitative and qualitative analysis of cross-border e-commerce and digital trade in developing countries, increasing awareness amongst stakeholders in developing countries on the opportunities in e-commerce and digital trade for sustainable economic growth, identifying bottlenecks for growth and providing policy advice on how to improve policy environment for increases SME participation in cross-border e-commerce and digital trade.

Services provided:
* Conducted research on policy-related issues in the ‘cross-border trade’ and ‘after sales’
segments of the e-commerce value chain.
* Provided policy recommendations for developing countries on the role that government, trade and investment support institutions (TISIs) can play for creating a conducive environment for developing country SMEs to tap into their e-commerce potential.
* Co-authored the report ‘Bringing SMEs onto the E-Commerce Highway‘ on cross-border e-commerce and digital trade in developing countries.
